Today’s episode features Big Other‘s editor John Madera in conversation with Professor Richard D. Wolff. Among the things discussed are capitalism, neoliberalism, socialism, Bernie Sanders, Trump, the two-party oligarchy/plutocracy, voting, democracy, and “disaster socialism.”

Professor Richard D. Wolff is Professor of Economics Emeritus, University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he taught economics from 1973 to 2008. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in International Affairs of the New School, New York City. He’s the author of many books, including Capitalism Hits the Fan, Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism, Capitalism’s Crisis Deepens: Essays on the Global Economic Meltdown, Understanding Marxism, and Understanding Socialism. His recent work has concentrated on analyzing the causes of and offering alternative solutions to the current global economic crisis. Wolff’s weekly show, Economic Update with Richard D. Wolff, is syndicated on over 70 radio stations nationwide and available for broadcast on Free Speech TV.
