Join Us October 24, 2026: Celebrating 17 Years of Big Other!

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, I’ll be emceeing Artist Salon Presents: A Night of Readings Celebrating Big Other, a special gathering marking seventeen years of the literary journal.

We’ll be joined by nine wonderful writers whose work has been published in Big Other: Martine Bellen, Elaine Equi, Heller Levinson, Dawn Raffel, John Reed, John Schertzer, Terese Svoboda, Edwin Torres, and Micah Zevin.

Since launching Big Other in 2009, I’ve been fortunate to share in the work of writers who push at the boundaries of poetry, prose, genre, and form, making strange and marvelous things out of language. This evening of readings, encounters, and felicitous collisions offers a chance to revisit the paths that brought us here and discover what new constellations might emerge.

The event on Saturday, October 24, 2026, 6:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m. (ET), will take place in person at New York Insight Meditation Center in Manhattan and online via Zoom, so you can join us wherever you are!

All proceeds will benefit New York Insight Meditation Center’s community programs.

Please register in advance to attend, either in person or online:

I hope you can join us for an evening of readings, reunion, and the unexpected pleasures of hearing what happens when words find one another.
