is a Chicago band. I caught their New Year’s Day set at the Whistler in Logan Square. During their soundcheck, I thought they sounded Pavement-y. When they played, I thought they sounded R.E.M.-y. Either way, I liked what I heard; they were totally pleasant.

Here’s some footage of them performing at the Whistler, so you can pretend you were there, too (the sound was better yesterday, though):

  • A. D. Jameson is the author of five books, most recently I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING: STAR WARS AND THE TRIUMPH OF GEEK CULTURE and CINEMAPS: AN ATLAS OF 35 GREAT MOVIES (with artist Andrew DeGraff). Last May, he received his Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the Program for Writers at UIC.
