Brevity, part 8: Long Titles

  • A. D. Jameson is the author of five books, most recently I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING: STAR WARS AND THE TRIUMPH OF GEEK CULTURE and CINEMAPS: AN ATLAS OF 35 GREAT MOVIES (with artist Andrew DeGraff). Last May, he received his Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the Program for Writers at UIC.

  1. Ugh. I really, really could not read this. Then it took me a sec to catch on. Yes, I am slow, but not dim-witted. Thanks for the lessen (pun intended).

  2. I offer: “Zirn Left Unguarded, The Jenghik Palace in Flames, Jon Westerly Dead” – a short story by Robert Sheckley. No link, I’m afraid, but it dates from a time when sf stories had titles almost as long as the text.
