Somewhat frequently I go on a kick of being able to listen only to music made by Jack White. I’m in the throes of one of these beautiful obsessive periods. Perfect time for a Side by Side. “Death Letter” by Son House is one of my favorite songs, and The White Stripes cover is equal on my awesome meter.

The new Stripes doc. is coming out soon as well…
dude, i am excited about that! i just wish i could afford the box set version!
I had the great pleasure of shaking that Jack White’s hand. I’ll be talking about it on my deathbed.
as if i weren’t already jealous enough of you!
The song choice strikes me as prescient, Ryan. I have to go with Son House on this one. He kills it!
i have impeccable timing! i love both versions dearly. my favorite White Stripes performance of this song was during the grammys, jack white was bathed in the spotlight at one point, and he just dialed it up. it was killer. but i didn’t post it because it was part of a medley and i wanted the full version.
