I was trying to think of the most perfect Thanksgiving Holiday film. While peeling my hundredth potato, I remembered Jeanne Dielman.
Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles (1975)
Written and directed by Chantal Akerman
Starring the immortal Delphine Seyrig
See also the Criterion page on the film. As well as the Jeanne Dielman Cooking Video Contest. (I wonder if Martha Rosler entered?)
(The winner was announced here.)
See also our previous Chantal Akerman Feature Friday, Je Tu Il Elle.
