re: Molly Gaudry & Poe

I saw this just now, making rounds of the various blogs I try to frequent. I thought about posting it as a comment to Molly’s post about Poe, but thought it deserved as many viewers as possible, so check out this blogpost about some great illustrations from an old edition of Poe’s work.

  • Ryan W. Bradley has pumped gas, changed oil, painted houses, swept the floor of a mechanic's shop, worked on a construction crew in the Arctic Circle, fronted a punk band, and managed an independent children's bookstore. He now works in marketing. His latest book is Nothing but the Dead and Dying, a collection of stories set in Alaska. He lives in southern Oregon with his wife and two sons.

  1. Cool. The illustrations remind me big time of Giorgio de Chirico’s work like “Piazza d’Italia,” “The Uncertainty of the Poet,” “L’Enigma di Una Giornata.” It’s the starkness, the shadows, the classical architecture, you know?
