“Loo-shous” does sound better, richer. I’ve always liked the name Lucius. Which, makes me think of the stop-motion videos Blake posted on Giant awhile ago.

thanks, ce. and good question. i always heard “luscious” as “loo shous” in my head. but i think you’re right. it’s probably pronounced “lush ous.”

I’ve become really enamored with the language in WHEN ALL OUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED, ever since reading the excerpt at Alice Blue. Great reading, Mel.

Note: is Mud Luscious really pronounced “mud-loo-shous”? I’ve always thought it “mud-lush-ous.” But, I also pronounce “avatar” wrong, evidently.
