‘why don’t you dance?’ is a good example of a story written by an author who has a great sense of cinematography. I love how, at the beginning of the story, the inventory of household items now on the lawn works the way a slowly panning camera shot might.

Glad to see Lutz getting some love here from you Greg. And Ravi, it’d be cool to hear what you thought of Lutz’s Stories in the Worst Way and Howard’s On the Winding Stair. I just reviewed Howard’s book for the Brooklyn Rail, and I think her book beautifully written; every jeweled sentence inspires.

And I think the form of this interview has given me an idea for a post, and reminded me of another one that has lain dormant.
